Long ago, fishermen on the shores of the Dominican Republic found small blue pebbles washed up by the waves. To them, these stones were gifts from the ocean, carrying whispers of peace and blessings from the sea gods.

In 1916, Larimar was officially rediscovered and later named by combining “Lari” (the discoverer’s daughter’s name) and “mar” (Spanish for “sea”).
